PrimoRec
Shoot landscape, post vertical: an iPhone camera for creators
- iOS
- Free · Pro US$ 9.90 (one-time)
What is PrimoRec?
PrimoRec is an iPhone camera app that records in 16:9 and automatically creates a 9:16 vertical version that follows the person in frame, all processed on the device. It's for creators who post on YouTube and in vertical formats and want one recording for both, with no upload, no account and no server.
Downloading is free and recording has no limit; the automatic vertical works on one video a day. Pro is a one-time US$ 9.90 purchase on the App Store, no subscription, and covers the family through Family Sharing.

FAQ
- How much does PrimoRec cost?
- Downloading is free and recording has no limit. The automatic vertical works on one video a day, and Pro, which removes that limit, is a one-time US$ 9.90 purchase with no subscription.
- Which iPhones does it run on?
- iPhones on iOS 18 or later. Apple Log, ProRes, Open Gate and dual cameras only show up on models that support them.
- Are my videos uploaded anywhere?
- No. Everything is processed on the iPhone and the app has no server. Videos stay in the app's folder in Files and only go to Photos when you save them.
- Do I have to shoot in landscape?
- For the automatic vertical, yes, because it needs the width of the frame to move the 9:16 crop. To shoot upright directly, just turn Follow off.
