FAQ

How do I install primo-brutality?
Run npm install @primo-brutality/ui nativewind (or pnpm/yarn), import the package's global.css and add @primo-brutality/ui/tailwind-preset to your tailwind.config. Metro and Babel setup follows the NativeWind v4 installation guide.
Does it work with Expo, and which versions?
Yes, it works in Expo and bare React Native apps. Peer dependencies are react >= 18, react-native >= 0.74 and nativewind >= 4, and your app needs Tailwind CSS v3.
What is the license?
MIT. The source is on GitHub and the package is public on npm.
How is it different from other UI kits?
It commits to one look, neo-brutalism, and styles everything through NativeWind className instead of its own styling system. Components use React Native primitives (onPress, View, Pressable), so it is not a web kit like shadcn or MUI.
Is it maintained?
The latest version is 2.0.0, published in June 2026. It removed the ScrollView export; 1.0.0 had already dropped the Brut prefix from component names.
